Shallow bowl with iridescent rim by Jon Paine

DescriptionThis Shallow ogee profile bowl with large iridescent curved rim in Ash was inspired by the work of Mick Hanbury. I part turned the back and top of this piece, coated the rim with a base of black lacquer and applied blue, turquoise, azure and gold iridescent acrylic in a random pattern using thin plastic film. I then hollowed out the middle and reverse chucked the bowl to finish the foot. The centre and back have been left natural to provide a contrast to the rim.Approx dimensions:200mm dia x 50mm deep with an overall weight of 230gmFinish:This front of this piece has  been finished with acrylic sanding sealer and acrylic lacquer and the back with sealer and wax
