Georgian Bohemian enamelled milch glass tankard

This is a Georgian, Continental (Bohemia or Germany), hand-enamelled, mouth-blown milch glass tankard dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1760. The tankard is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the base. The tankard has a bucket-shaped bowl measuring 8.4 cm (3.5 inches) in diameter at the upper rim. The bowl is nicely enamelled with a man smoking a long pipe while walking in countryside flanked by two bouquets of flowers all under a hatched band. The handle was applied first to the top of the bowl and finished off at the bottom with a curlicue. The glass is 13.3 cm (5.3 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. The lower handle terminal is attached in a slightly unusual manner but it is original ad dates from manufacture.
