Selling on behalf of the family of Leslie  Evans. Leslie Evans was a well renowned sax teacher, saxophonist  and the younger brother of George Evans bandleader Also Leslie Evans was a expert when it came to mouthpieces ,reeds and also written many articles on Tone production ,Embouchure, mouthpieces and mouthpiece tabulation charts, all still can be found on the internet. Ukhorns are proud and honoured to have the opportunity to be involved with the sale of this horn Selmer Balanced Action from 1936 This Selmer was shipped from Paris, April 1936. for the uk market . IT was shipped without engraving or lacquer so would have the  final set up  completed at Selmer London . Selmer Paris shipped roughly 95 tenors to Selmer London in 1936 information courtesy of Douglas Pipher     We believe this is not the original Lacquer but obviously done a while back and done to a very good standard ,possibly done by Selmer . The engraving is still visible and intact ,so no over buffing The pads ,mixture of old and new seal well and the sax plays well. Comes with the original Selmer case Being previously owned by a pro player the sax has been well cared for and serviced on a regular basis . So if your looking for a iconic horn owned by a top player and teacher this could be the one .
